The Washington Union School District Board of Trustees approved the 25-26 school year calendar at the February '25 meeting. Please click to view the calendar.
Mrs. Uccelli presented a proposal for the potential lease of Washington Union Elementary School to the Monterey County Office of Education for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years. MCOE will begin construction of a conference center and office facility at their West Campus location. During construction, they will need to find alternate locations to house several departments and the Washington Union campus may meet that need. Should this happen, fourth graders will be relocated to Toro Park Elementary School and fifth graders will be relocated to San Benancio Middle School.

At the November Board meeting, the administrative team presented the 2023-24 CAASPP results. You will see how our district students performed in comparison to state, county, and local districts and schools. Overall, we fared very well and the results show that we remain competitive with basic aid districts in Carmel and Pacific Grove and are ahead of the other ADA-funded districts throughout Monterey County. If you have any questions about any of the information in the attached slide deck, please feel free to contact my office.
Sincerely,
Gina Uccelli
